The Building of Opportunity
The Building of Opportunity is a 60,000 square ft. multi-functional facility that is
located in the heart of the inner city. It is conveniently located near the
Medical College of Georgia, Paine
College, and a number of major medical centers. It is approximately 10 minutes away from the
Marriott Riverfront Hotel,
Country Inn Suites
and the Partridge Inn as well as being approximately 15 minutes away from several hotels in the
Washington Road
area.
Our facility features include the following: 26 classrooms that may utilized for
seminar space, a computer lab with ten work stations, a media center with audio-visual equipment, a fully equipped state of the art industrial kitchen, and an elegant banquet hall that will accommodate
500 persons ( theatre style ), 300 persons ( classroom style ) and approximately
250 persons ( banquet style ).
In addition, our Vernon-Key Memorial Chapel provides a very intimate and beautiful setting for smaller weddings and other ceremonies (accommodates 250 persons). The historical significance of this chapel lies in the fact it has the original pews and pulpit furniture from the original structure, where the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered one of his last speeches there on March 24, 1968.
This beautiful three story structure is open to the public for conventions, seminars, family reunions, weddings, receptions, etc. On site catering is available.
